Disability Support Worker
Location – Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and surrounding areas
Job Summary
Bright Journey Disability and Support Services looking for experienced, reliable, and empathetic Support Workers (Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and surrounding areas) who want to make a difference by supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life.
Being a Disability Support Worker may involve:
- Assistance with community access and recreational activities
- Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance
- Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
- Transportation and social engagement
- Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
- Behavioural and Mental Health Support
Essential Criteria
- Minimum Certificate III Aged Care and/or Certificate in Disability
- An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centered support
- Transferable life/work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach
- A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- The legal right to work in Australia
- Excellent communication skills
- A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities
- Current Working with Children check.
- Sound computer skills.
