Job Summary

Bright Journey Disability and Support Services looking for experienced, reliable, and empathetic Support Workers (Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and surrounding areas) who want to make a difference by supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life.

 
Being a Disability Support Worker may involve:
  • Assistance with community access and recreational activities
  • Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance
  • Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
  • Transportation and social engagement
  • Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
  • Behavioural and Mental Health Support
Essential Criteria
  • Minimum Certificate III Aged Care and/or Certificate in Disability
  • An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centered support
  • Transferable life/work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • The legal right to work in Australia
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities
  • Current Working with Children check.
  • Sound computer skills.
